Summer afternoons call for a fresh whisky, and while some may think that a fresh whisky might be simple, it shouldn’t mean that. anCnoc 12 is one of those fresh, yet complex, whiskies that may revive a fatigued person on a hot afternoon.

Located in the limits of Speyside, the Knockdhu distillery is known for its modern tradition approach and its Highland whisky. The distillery, owned by InverHouse, chose to name its whisky anCnoc (pronounced a-nóck) 20 years ago. It is less difficult to confuse it with Knockando with that name.
Even though it is quite known in Scotland, anCnoc is not a brand that we are used to seeing around outside the UK. anCnoc 12 years old has been matured in American oak ex-bourbon barrels for at least 12 years. It is usually bottled at 40% volume (80 proof) without chill filtration
An Cnoc 在蘇格蘭蓋爾語的意思為”山丘” 安努克的蒸餾廠為”Knockdhu”在蘇格蘭蓋爾語的意思為”黑色山丘” 1894年10月開始生產 當John Morrison先生買下此區時,其發現Knock Hill南側擁有數個非常清澈乾淨的泉水於是決定蓋一座威士忌蒸餾廠,此蒸餾廠採用當地的灰色花崗石建造並於1894年10月開始生產,此蒸餾廠採用16匹馬力的蒸氣機當動力創造出2500加侖/周的生產力,在當時為最現代化的蒸餾廠,蒸餾廠位於盛產泥煤及優質大麥產區Moray,大北部蘇格蘭鐵道也由廠區旁通過。
1931年由於經濟大蕭條而關閉數年,1940-1945年二次世界大戰期間由於大麥的供應受到限制而被迫關場 1947年Knockhdu酒廠全面更新生產設備,如新的糖化槽、機械鍋爐、內燃機及新的製桶等,1982年酒廠再次由於全球對蘇格蘭威士忌的需求下降而關閉 1988年售給Inver House Distillers並於1989年2月6日重新生產至。
